Apocalypse Now?

I look forward to new experiences

Though frightened, I am curious

Maybe even excited about what comes next

Not a catastrophe but revelation

Glad that some of our structures

Dissolve into fire or ice

Sad about melting Mother Earth

Our Source, our Love

I rejoice when I realize that

I am the cause of my own suffering

Protecting myself from the outside world

Finding deep peace in knowing

No need to judge so very harshly

No need to embody stresses

That keep adrenaline and anxiety

Pumping

A cocoon, staying away

From the angry ones

The hurt ones

I ask for forgiveness

Listening deeply to my best instincts

To wonder, to explore before

I break apart, blow up

Or shatter

This new vision includes deep understanding

A dream about my mattering but

Not as much as I formerly believed

Not having that much power

But power enough to relax and rest

Stop fighting the good fight

Developing more subtle ways

To bring change to the world

By changing myself

That’s all I can do

Believing the Great Spirit Mother

Will care for others, not just my job

We move along the paths of

Destruction and joy

Out of the darkness comes light

After we wade inside the black cave

Without knowing what we will find

Accepting what is there

Hoping to embrace all parts of us

So many particles from ugly to beautiful

The apocalypse has already come

We are now walking through hell on earth

We cover ourselves with a cloak of hope

And community so that we can all heal

So that we can all grow

And bloom

Season by season

Day be day
